Apple Bootlegs go live
It's been a very busy couple of days getting the songs (recorded live at Glasgow QMU on Tuesday 13th May) ready for download...
We may have slightly stretched the 48 hour part... but not by much - as of now, the Apple Bootlegs are free to download for anyone who clicks the Featured Section banner on the right.
There's also artwork to download, and the video competition will start in the next couple of weeks (early edits of the footage are looking good...).
Let us know what you think on the message board, and enjoy the tracks...

Ah, Vienna.
TCTC have just added to their European live schedule - an appearance at 'The Full Hit Of Summer' festival is now confirmed for June 4th, in Austria.
In Vienna's 3500 capacity 'Arena' venue, the festival will be headlined by Queens Of The Stone Age, with The Cooper Temple Clause 3rd on the bill.
More info in the Live section of the site - the www.weisen.at site is useful as it has an English language version, and promises that "Some great spectacle will be delievered", which we liked...

Whatever happened to Gary and Jason...?
Hop over to www.xfm.co.uk, you will see that as well as covering the Apple Bootlegs story, they've dug up an excellent TCTC interview/ session, from the band's first appearance on the station back in June 2001.
You almost feel sorry for Lauren Laverne by the time the band have finished messing her around... even the simplest questions get willfully misinterpreted, and apparently the band line-up at the time included a 'Gary', a 'Jason' and several mutes.
Very funny to listen back to then, and you also get casio-powered session versions of Way Out West and Panzer Attack, the latter complete with chorus in french.

Blind Pilots b's
With Blind Pilots due for release on November 10th, as the second single from Kick Up The Fire, And Let The Flames Break Loose, we figured it was time to reveal a little more about the b-sides that can be found across the formats.
Full details of the formats (CD, DVD and 7", with 3 b-sides and 2 videos all in) are in the Releases section.
So - via the stream links below, you can hear Dan Fisher introducing Derelict - which he says could potentially have made it on to the album had they written it in time - and also play a clip of Habit Of A Lifetime, which is our personal favourite...

Aftershow events on November tour
TCTC will be continuing their excellent aftershow tradition on the November tour, and at selected venues you can get in just by being at the venue nice and early...
At the venues listed below, the first x number of over 18s through the door (numbers differ between venues) will receive passes to the aftershows, where the band and The Raveonettes will at certain times be DJing.
Nov 18th - Glasgow QMU
Aftershow @ Jim's Bar (in venue). 200 people, open until 2am.
Nov 19th - Manchester Academy
Aftershow @ Big Hands (approx 100 yards down street). 100 people, open until 2am.
Nov 23rd - Birmingham Academy
Aftershow @ Academy 3 (venue bar). 200 people, open until 2am.
Nov 24th - Leeds Met University
Aftershow @ Met Bar (venue bar). 200 people, open until 2am.
It has to be over 18s only to comply with licensing laws, we're afraid.
Unfortunately no aftershows have been able to be arranged for any other dates on the tour, due to a combination of lack of suitable venues, late licenses and costs...
Note that the Leeds Met gig is now SOLD OUT, and London Shepherds Bush Empire just has a couple of hundred tickets left...
18/11/03

4Music Feature
Check out Colin Murray's new show 'Eye Candy' on Channel 4's '4Music' takeover tonight (Wednesday the 26th at 12:20am, which is technically very early on Thursday), because it will include a TCTC feature filmed at last weekend's Shepherds Bush Empire show.
If you miss it, it's being repeated on Saturday 29th as well, at 1.40am (again, technically Sunday).

Internationale
With TCTC expecting to spend much of the early part of 2004 spreading their music outside of the UK, we thought we'd bring you up to date with the (rough) plans for international releases.
Firstly, Japan are likely to be releasing their Promises, Promises EP in January now (original plan - which changed - was to go in September this year). The tracklist is made up of 5 of the 6 songs that were included on the UK formats, plus 1 song from the UK Blind Pilots release. Check in Releases for details.
At around the same time, Blind Pilots will be coming out in Germany, again as a single EP combining tracks from the UK formats.
The album Kick Up The Fire, And Let The Flames Break Loose is now available in Brazil, and also in Canada on import.
Fans in New Zealand should start asking radio stations about Promises, Promises, as BMG in NZ are considering putting it out.
Finally, the band will be heading to the US in March 2004, for a 20 date tour - show details should be confirmed in late Jan/ early Feb next year.

TCTC to tour with BRMC in February
The Cooper Temple Clause have just announced that they will be appearing as 'very special guests' on the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club UK tour in February 2004.
The dates are as below, and ticket details can be found in the Live section.
February 2004
7th - Brighton Dome
9th - Cambridge Corn Exchange
10th - Southampton Guildhall
11th - Liverpool University Academy
12th - Glasgow Carling Academy
13th - Leeds Blank Canvas
2004 looks like being another heavy year on the road for the band; as reported earlier in the week they'll be heading for America in March for roughly a 20 date tour, and then it won't be long before we're in festival season again... excellent.
09/12/03
BRMC London date added
Further to last week's announcement that The Cooper Temple Clause will be special guests on the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club UK tour in February, the band will now also be appearing on the bill at BRMC's NME Brats show in Brixton.
The gig, at the Brixton Academy, kicks off the tour on Friday, February 6th.
Tickets for the London show are £17.60 + booking fee, with the 60p going to charity... regional shows are all £16 + booking fee.
London tickets are available on 0870 7712000, 020 72870932, 020 77348932, 020 7403331 and 0871 2200260, or online at www.gigsandtours.com.
More info on the regional dates can be found in the Live section.

New T-shirt on sale...
Based on the Promises, Promises Snuff Movie characters, TCTC have made a new T-shirt available via the store at NME.com.
Go to www.backstreetmerch.com/nme to check out the shirt and buy it online... note that Friday this week (19th Dec) is the last day you can place an order that will be fulfilled in time for Christmas.
The shop section of this site, which has lain dormant for some time now, is very nearly ready, so come the new year we should be able to unveil it.
The band are currently musing around their studio, and we'll have some more cool bits and pieces for you from them before Christmas...
To revisit the Snuff Movie, go to www.thecoopertempleclause.com/snuff.

Kick Up The Fire at the end of the year
As 2003 slides to a close, various 'album of the year' lists are being drawn up, and TCTC's second lp Kick Up The Fire, And Let The Flames Break Loose is happily amongst them.
NME ranked the record at number 22 in their top 50, above the likes of SFA, The Darkness, BRMC and Britney (ok, so they didn't rank her at all). Their list was topped by the White Strokes.
Xfm, however, are opening voting to the public, and you can select your favourite album of 2003 at www.xfm.co.uk - Radiohead's Hail To The Theif is currently caning it, but there's a healthy scrap going on for the other places...
Playlouder reveal their top records on Monday 22nd, although they have already made available their Shitlist, which makes for amusing reading.

A Christmas message...
Ah, Christmas. A time for cracking open the Special Brew and sitting in the park all day. And all night.
But not for The Cooper Temple Clause - they have recorded a special Christmas message for you, from their very festive studio, The Bleak House.
Click the video stream links below to play the message.
Thanks for all your support this year, and please do join us in a round...

Exclusive album vaulted area launched
As a Christmas gift, we've just opened a special vaulted web area for everyone who has a copy of Kick Up The Fire, And Let The Flames Break Loose.
If you click on the Featured Section banner on the right, or here, you'll be taken to the area.
You'll need your CD in your PC's CD-Rom drive to access the area (all versions of the album will work).
Once in, you will find a gallery of over 100 unseen pictures of the band, taken by TCTC over the last couple of years; on the road, in (and building) the studio, and at the swimming pool, amongst other things...
There's also a video piece which they've recently put together, made up of footage from the band's 2002 tour/ promo trip in Japan. It's set to Jesus, You Smoke Too (Who Needs Enemies 7" b-side), and is the first in a number of short films that the band are planning to add to the area.
Hope you like it, and have a good Christmas.

The second date for Black Rebel is a rearranged gig from a previous tour, when their Leeds Town Hall show was abandoned due to a dancefloor collapse...

Coachella
TCTC have been announced on the bill for the Coachella festival in America, at the beginning of May.
The general line-up looks phenomenal - Radiohead, The Pixies, The Cure, Flaming Lips, Air, Belle & Sebastian and lots more are all scheduled to play across the 2 day festival (May 1st and 2nd).
TCTC line up on the 2nd - full details, including ticket info (on general sale from Feb 14th), directions (our US geography is poor, but the recommended airports include LA, Las Vegas and Palm Springs, so we're figuring it's West Coast...) and FAQs (no stuffed animals to be taken into festival) can all be found at www.coachella.com.
Meanwhile, US press coverage for Kick Up The Fire, And Let The Flames Break Loose continues apace - the March issue of Stuff magazine makes it album of the month. It's also the first review of the record to include the words 'fanny pack'.

Debut US album release on Feb 24th
February 24th 2004 sees the first TCTC release in America, as Kick Up The Fire, And Let The Flames Break Loose is released.

Been Training Dogs
Did You Miss Me?
Both recorded at the Shepherds Bush Empire, London, on November 22nd 2003.
RCA US have also put together Aol Instant Messenger icons for the band, which you can download from here.
Promises, Promises is currently the most added track at US college radio, and the press coverage continues to go from strength to strength, so it's all looking good...

K-Rock & pictures...
If you're in NYC and able to tune in to the K-Rock radio station on 92.3fm, you should listen this Sunday evening @ 11pm EST...
Ben, Didz and Tom recorded an interview with Matt Pinfield's show The Buzz - you can see them pictured below, including a lovely pucker from T Bellamy - and we fancy that the audio may get added to the K-Rock site once it's aired.
Also new in the Gallery is a selection of photos from erstwhile TCTC photographer Ami Barwell - shots from the last Brixton gig, shots which ended up in US magazine Amplifier and also a series taken in London at the back end of 2003. For more TCTC shots, you can find her site at www.musicphotographer.co.uk.

And so, a month after leaving English shores for their first approach on America, TCTC have returned with a warm feeling.
The response to the band has been excellent; as is now traditional, they managed to divide opinion as well as take praise, but their SXSW set was certainly one of the most talked about.
We've made our way through the backlog of fan reviews and photos - cheers for everything, they can be read/ seen in the Review Archive and Fan Images sections.

American Tour Diary - The End
Final part of Jon's US tour diary is below. He does LA, San Francisco, Vancouver and a whole lotta other things. The gag with the celery makes us laugh a lot.
More to come soon from the recent German Dj tour, but first...
LA. We are staying at the Roosevelt hotel on Hollywood Boulevard. Paul parks the bus and we head inside. Things are looking good. The hotel is big and designed like a castle and there is a pool outside which looks like a 1930's Hollywood film set, all palm trees and terrace chalet villas. There is just enough time to grab a shower and change before meeting the others for dinner. There is a bowling place that serves food and we decide that it is going to be good enough for dinner and head straight in. We have crossed the country by bus and reached the far coast. In roughly twenty days. It took the Spanish a lot longer but there were no roads back then. So it's time to celebrate and Kieran does the honours with a great speech and much toasting. People are tired after the hell of a day we have just had so half the team splits off to grab some sleep. Probably what myself, Tom, Andy and Kieran should have done but hell, it's the first time in LA and we should explore the local wildlife. Not sure what the bar was called that we found ourselves in but it was dark as hell and the barmaid looked like an extra form the super vixens or some other Russ Meyer huge boob violence classic. She was teaching us the finer blends of tequila with shots that should never be contemplated with a sober mind. It was a long yet successful night, which didn't go without it's casualties and the morning came far too soon.
She reminded me of the barmaids from the Hoboken gig that we played. Heavily tattooed yet very sexy ladies. There is something I find really sexy about girls with great tattoos. They just have a certain confidence. That again was a fun gig even though it was a little stage with minimal PA. The crowd was very intimate plus chicken shit angel eyed boy managed to make it over. I owe that guy many drinks. We had fun but I think that the real excitement was the fact that we would be in New York the next day.
The sun is shining and we head into the hills to look for the Hollywood sign. This is a little harder that we expect and like everything in the American world without wheels we are pretty much fucked. The gig looks great. Big stage, nice sized room and good equipment. Tonight if everything works ok things are going to be great and as expected the gig goes without hitch and is particularly high on the list of most enjoyable gigs ever. I end up spending quite a lot of time with Jolie the NME writer assigned to write a news story on us. She is fun but driving so not up for a few drinks so I head back to the bus, which is busy with Japanese fans and Americans. Didz has headed into town with some other bands and Ben seems to have been kidnapped. Nobody knows where he has got to. Tom has had far too much tequila and is wandering around in his pants. Great pants! 7am Paul gets back to the bus and wants to leave. Didz and me are still up in the front lounge, Fish is listening to post rock and chilling in the back and there is still no Ben. I give him a call to say we should be leaving but he doesn't know where he is, in a car with some people he doesn't really know. I think I will let someone else sort this out and decide to head off to bed.
San Francisco. That was a hell of a night. Too many crazies! Slept in my clothes again. You can always judge a night by the amount of clothing that remains on your body when you wake. There has only been one night when I didn't manage to get my jacket and shoes off but I didn't ever imagine waking for that night. I think if it goes any further then I will wake naked but not in bed or in a hospital somewhere. Hell who knows anymore? San Francisco looks amazing. We are uptown at the gig. This city is great lots of trams and crazy stepped hills. The rain is incredible. There has been about half a foot since we got here and there is a wave climbing slowly up the trailer as we wait for a break in the weather to complete the load in. Everyone is completely soaking. I met a local guy who was saying that Steve McQueen takes off in one area of town and lands the jump in a completely different neighbourhood. He should know, he says as he has lived there all his life. Another guy asks me why the hell have we come to San Francisco when we live in London, as he used to live in London for five years and thinks that San Francisco is shitty in comparison. He tells me that he is moving to Melbourne soon. Why do people tell me these things? The gig is again successful. There is a lady puking outside and she says that she likes a drummer who is not afraid to lift his own drums back into the trailer. There isn't anybody else to do it! That's when I slipped on the rain soaked ramp and fell on my face. Hard like a sack of bricks. Not broken any bones before. Dislocated my shoulder in the Alps a few years ago. That hurt but this was different, I was sure that I had snapped my arm. It turns out that everything is ok. My arm is just a little compressed. Things will be fine and there is a day off tomorrow. Plus Def Leopard got away with it.
Vancouver is 1000 miles away. We are going to stop for a break in Oregon and see what happens. There is a hotel with a launderette and a steak house next door and that's all I need. We must stop so that Paul can sleep which tends to mean lots of waiting around. Too much waiting around! Not much is happening and tonight there is just Andy and myself sitting on the bus listening to stupid tracks on his computer and watching South Park shows he has downloaded. It is starting to look like the Jimmy Kimmel Show has been cancelled. If so then we get to go home a little earlier which in the scheme of things is probably a good thing as I am feeling, like everyone else I imagine, a little burned out. Tom wants a holiday in LA at the end of the tour to sit in the sun but I don't know if it's going to happen. I can't remember the last time I got to sit in the sun and do nothing.
We are at Richard's on Richard's. It looks like it's going to be a good show. Vancouver is a fucking great place. And so far what I have seen is incredible. You are near the mountains and near the sea at the same time. Canada has really impressed me so far. All three city's have been relaxed, cool and especially Montreal, filled with beautiful women. After the show Didz, Andy P and myself head off to find somewhere to eat and are joined by Natalie and Steve. We know Natalie from back in London and she has just moved out to Vancouver to be with Steve who is Canadian, plays in a band and turns out to be the best guy ever. He suggests we should head to the cafe on the corner which myself and Didz believe to be a recommendation, as it turns out he has never eaten there before. It's close and it sells food, which is all we really need. It's not long before we realize the mistake we have made, as the only other customers this place gets are Prostitutes. This area of Vancouver turns out to be the red light district and this is the cafe where they meet, drink coffee and change shift. It's unbelievable. I think maybe the law is quite relaxed on that whole business out here as the girls are not shabby in any way and are wearing best part of nothing. It makes for great entertainment while we eat. I really want to go to the toilet but it could be a dangerous move trying to avoid the bitch fighting. I think that was the most insane meal I have ever eaten. The gig was great and the after show meal hilarious. Didz heads back to Steve and Natalie's apartment to drink wine and I decide to head off with Andy P to meet the others and Calla for some late night Partying. The club is filled with hot women and Tom is dancing on the tables.
Heading back across the Canadian border into America is proving difficult. There is a jobsworth arsehole intent on causing us as much grief as possible. "Everybody off. Get all yer bags. All yer personal stuff. You got anything you wanna tell me"? Paul has lent me his hat which has the "Fender" logo slightly altered to say "Fucker" on the front. It's a great hat and I am very much enjoying wearing it, however Paul has been quite worried that I will lose it while I am out drinking. The customs guy sees my hat and asks if I am the guitarist. I tell him that I'm the drummer and point at Fish. He then realizes what my hat actually says and is not impressed. He looks away quickly and addresses Dan. "You play guitar? See these hands. I've been playin' guitar since 1963. See what it does to yer hands" Dan just looks pissed off. I approach Paul and point at the fucker hat. Tell him that it's ok and I didn't lose it. Paul laughs and slaps me on the back. The customs guy calls after me. "Hey! You calling me what it says on yer hat"?
That's when they decide to put the dogs on the bus to check for drugs. The dogs find nothing on the bus so they decide to line us up and individually smell us all. The dog spends a strangely long time smelling Didz' balls. Eventually they let us through. Seattle here we come.
So far every Sunday gig has been a little strange in the US. In England Sunday is just another working day but over here it is definitely quieter. We start the day with an in store gig. Everyone is really hung over and in no mood to play. It goes ok. Not too many people but that's probably a good thing. I think I hardly opened my eyes during the whole performance. We are all just completely knackered and I'm pretty sure that I played most of the gig asleep. The gig is at Easy Street records, which is a great music store. The guy who runs it is a superstar and gives us all T-Shirts. The BMG lady is also amazing and lets us steal all her promo CDs from the car. Hand luggage may prove to be a problem as I have acquired about 50 free CDs on this tour so far. May give some to Andy P as a little thank you, plus he has only managed to blag Alan Parsons Project CDs so far. Seattle looks cool. Lots of homeless people hanging around but may be that's just the area of town we are in. Last gig so I hope that we go out on a high note. Before the show we decide to all head out for a band meal and end up at this westernised Japanese restaurant. Again Kieran does the honours with a great end of tour speech and we give Paul a box of Cuban Cigars to suck on. He looks very happy. I decide that the squid and a plate of sushi is the way to go. Too much sushi before the gig is never a good idea. The tequila shots were also not a good idea. Not been this pissed before a gig for along time. Just before stage time a girl pushes her way into our dressing room wanting to take pictures and get us to sign things. She has the deepest Welsh accent. Nobody expected that. Andy spends most of the gig trying to annoy me. Squirting me from the side of the stage with water and throwing slices of turkey at me. One shot is perfectly on target and lands in the middle of my snare drum. Why do the crew think they have to make last gigs special by messing with us in some way. Last gig of the Black Rebel tour I walked onstage to find two massive sticks of celery instead of my drumsticks. There was also the time that Andy changed my set list so that it said things like: 1. What song's next? 2. Can't Remember? 3. You're In Trouble Now! Tonight is also the night where we have to sort out all the equipment we are taking home and what we are leaving. Which proves to be a long and awful job. There are a few people hanging around and they invite us to join them at a bar. The bar closes soon after that and we head back to the hotel to continue. We still have a lot of good booze to get through. There is a guy called Sky who is teaching us about being "metro-sexual" and a few girls. I don't remember too much about what happened but we drank a lot. Ran around being stupid in leopard skin dressing gowns and ruined two hotel rooms. I don't know when people left but I fell asleep on the floor in Didz' room. I woke up two hours later found my key and decided to shower before going to bed. Bad idea when you are still messy. I slipped over in the bath and knocked myself out. Hit my head, back, and legs. I went down hard and it really hurt. I lay there for along time with the water pouring down on my head and the bath filling up. I though that I would have to call Fisher to help drag me out but decided that I would sit it out and see if I recovered. I put the plug in and turned the shower off. Baths are safer!
I don't remember checking out. I don't remember the border or getting to the airport. Not really sure about much of the flight. Even the tube back to east London is a bit hazy. Must check that Sonia is in so that I can get in to the flat. Don't want to go all that way just to sit on the curb with all my bags and wait for her to get back. She is in. Perfect. It's been a really great tour. There have been lots of ups and downs, many highs and not many lows. But it's really good to be home. Really good! Less than a month until we are back though and I cant wait to be in New York again.
It has to be said that without a great number of people this American tour would never have been as successful as it was. So we would like to thank: Ashley, Scott, Mark, Lizzie, Maggie, Philippa, Sarah, Shacky and all at BMG US and UK for their hard work. Paul the bus driver, Andy Prins for busting his arse over from Japan to come party, Andy Veasey (cos it ain't easy being Veasey), Kennedy, Berto, Pete, Peter, Deborah, Dan and his video camera, Calla for their support. Everyone who travelled crazy distances to support us and the American folks who ventured out to see what we are about. Thank you.

Letter to America
This was mailed from the band to American fans last week. We figured everyone might like to see it, though...
Hello, you are Americans and we are a band from Britain.
Hopefully you are reading this because you like our band, if not then go away. First of all we would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who came to any of the shows on our beautiful journey. It seemed as though we had been waiting forever to get there but thanks to all those who lent their support, it was worth the wait. We truly had the time of our lives. Like us, your country is run by an idiot. That much we share.
However unlike us, you have perhaps the most beautiful country in the world, a country full of countries, each filled with its own unique populous, in equal measures affectionate, insane, and never less than interesting. Even when things were tough they were fun. To come to the the other side of the world and discover people who understood and took the time to lend an ear to and enjoy our little songs was at the same time both humbling and inspiring.
In the time since we parted Didz has grown a mustache, Tom has lost his and Jon, Ben, and Kieran have conquered the turntables and night clubs of Germany. We are writing for album three whilst at the same time making plans for possibly another big tour of your big country. We hope to meet again very soon.
We would like to take time to thank everyone who made our time in the US of A a joy. Though small in numbers (for now) we extend our utmost gratitude to our fans in America who big of heart and loud of voice, made us feel like we were doing something worthwhile, something people were prepared to listen to and care about as much as we did.
Once again, our heartfelt thanks,
tctc

Coventry Dj set confusion
We noticed on the message board that it's been suggested Tom and Kieran would be Djing in Coventry this week.
Unfortunately for anyone who was planning to go see them, that's not actually the case - the band will be in New York, recording their Carson Daly show performance on the 28th (broadcast date: May 7th), before heading out to the Coachella Festival for their May 2nd slot.
The confusion arose from errors in the band's diary and a couple of communications going astray - many apologies to anyone who's inconvenienced...
The club night itself will still be taking place.

German Dj Tour Diary
Buoyed by his American (and Canadian...) tour diary, Jon decided to keep a record of his, Ben and Kieran's recent German Dj tour. This time with pictures as well...
Couple of images are attached at the end of the article, and you can find the full set in the Gallery section. We hope you're as impressed by as we are by the way in which Mehmet Scholl is involved in the story.
TCTC are now heading back to America, for promo and for the Coachella Festival (May 2nd, full details in Live).
German DJ Tour. 2004
It seems that hangovers are always made worse by foreign travel. We are at present somewhere between Berlin and Hamburg on a very fast red train. Kieran and Jo have been kicked out of their seats by a Danish couple and Ben is sitting in the corridor looking after the suitcases. Everyone looks like Hell. I suppose I should make things easier for you guys and explain what we are doing. Maybe the best place to start is with the conspirators in this crazed deception. Firstly there is Ben our lead singer and Party Bully. Kieran and myself join him and together we make up the German DJ Team. Ute and Michael who have been driving the silver VW Passat, that we have spent roughly 19 hours in over the last three days, also join us on the road. A special mention must also be afforded to Mark who owns the bar we played at in Koln. We got on so well he decided to come to Berlin with us. He is clinically insane! I love people who have so much passion for adventure and don't really care what might happen. His story is probably one of the best. On a night out in Koln with a few friends they got drunk in a bar called stereo wonderland. The owner got talking to them and said that he wanted to sell the bar. So they bought it there and then. So now he owns a bar and in every whimsical frivolous endeavor he runs it like it's a new toy. I have never seen so many free drinks getting handed out and to be honest the tenth Jagermeister was probably taking one step to far. Maybe it is better to burn out than to fade away, but at this rate I may drown. For a start his face is incredibly funny. He looks like Fisher's little brother and he drinks like he belongs to that family. The candle is burning very brightly indeed.
Stereo Wonderland is a small bar opposite the Prime Club in Cologne. There is a tiny bar big enough to fit about three people behind and the sound system is a little bit shitter than the one we have in our flat. In fact I have been sat next to people on the tube with louder walkmans. The bar is full, about 150 people, and it looks like we are going to have an amazing time. We started the evening by heading out for Italian food and talked to a radio guy about the Haldern festival. Deus are booked to play and I can't wait to see them. It's getting to that point where we choose which festivals we play just so we can see the other bands. Coachella in particular is a dream come true! Today has been a really good day. We drove very fast from Essen to make it in time to spin some tunes at the University Radio station. We were a little late and most of the people were already drunk as they had bought lots of beers to welcome us with. We played for about an hour in total and I started the set off for the first 20 minutes before Kieran and then Ben took over. My set was something along the lines of:
LCD Soundsystem - Losing My Edge.
!!! - Feel Good Hit Of The Fall.
Punk Disco Beat - Hungry So Angry.
Bloc Party - She's Hearing Voices.
Clash - Train In Vain.
I remember something along those lines. Anyhow!
Six hours in a small estate car with four big men and a tiny girl is proving to be one of the funniest times in my life. Kieran is inanely talking about last night's adventures and Ben is reminiscing about past tours. He reminds me of the full-size fake dog that our old sound engineer used to sleep with while we were away. He used to make growling sounds and pretend it was barking or attacking him. I miss that guy. This life we have chosen for ourselves is proving to be sheer comedy.
Ok the Djing has been great; but I would like to point out that we are not Djs. We are musicians who have been asked to do some promotion by playing some records in various clubs around Germany. We are getting better though and the days when we cleared dance floors are now gone hopefully. Usually people ask us to play some records and we are either so messed up after a gig and don't know what's happening or too drunk to do it properly so I promised myself that I would practice and be professional from now on. Tonight's adventure is at the Mudd Club in Berlin. There is a pretty blonde girl wearing a t-shirt, which says, "Excuse me Jon, may I kiss you or just lick your sweat", in big letters across the back. It's full, about 400 people, and I am having a great time. Jo is here to visit Steffi her German friend who has just moved back from London to Berlin and Mark has just turned up on his motorbike, all the way from Cologne, to party. It's Ute and Michael's last night so we must take full advantage and drink as much as possible. Ute says that she is getting hardcore as she has drunk three vodka oranges and is not drunk. Jan's girlfriend is also here and tearing up the dance floor. It is getting light outside and Mark has decided to play some tunes in the other room. We head back to the hotel to find they are putting the breakfast out. Which in a way is quite pleasant. Usually we don't get out of bed in time to get breakfast so today we definitely got our moneys worth. Such a long night! Going into the room I manage to pull Ben's towel off the wardrobe. There is a glass behind which smashes and trying to catch it in my drunken state I manage to cut my hand open. Kieran and Ben think it's very funny as they come into the room and I'm lying on the floor with a towel wrapped around my hand to stop the bleeding. It's definitely now time for bed! This day has had too many mornings so far and we only have three hours before we have to catch the train. I'm getting to that stage where I am dreading the evenings.
Tonight we are be staying with Thomas and Alvaro. Alvaro has just opened a bar in Hamburg so we will go and help him promote. I'm not sure but it could be the best bar ever judging by what I know about Alvaro. Alvaro knows Kung Fu and for evening sporting pursuits as a teenager would go out Fascist Bashing with his friends. He also has very good taste in suits and has promised to take us to Herr von Eden to shop before we play some records. I need some new clothes desperately so I am very much looking forward to what I might find. Unfortunately the club is pretty empty when we arrive. It is a Sunday night but I feel a little embarrassed for our friends who asked us to come. They will be making a loss tonight and it's our fault. That's not to say that we didn't have an amazing night. Absinthe! Never ever a good idea! My good friend Nick texted me the other day saying "Absinthe why, why, why did I do it?" I should have taken this as a warning. Alvaro says that this is the good stuff and is made by some people who live in Spain near his parents. That's great! So it's moonshine as well. I decided I was not to venture into this place alone so bought one for Mark who has just arrived having driven from Berlin in a blatant attempt to keep the party alive. He doesn't look pleased. But it's always best to keep someone worse for wear than you. Even though I drew him a map last night to our hotel he still managed to fall asleep on a park bench and is looking pretty vacant.
Table football is very difficult in my new cotton wool world. The ball is traveling very fast and I can't quite keep up. I have some kind of satellite time delay between my brain and my hands. It's very funny though. What a great night to end the DJ tour.
Munich was definitely the best night for us. The Atomic Café was rammed and the dance floor pumping. Henning (All round great guy, music journalist and Ute's other half) is DJing first and looks tired. He met us at the airport with Ute and Michael but our flight was delayed so they had to wait for quite a while. Plus he has many deadlines for magazines he is writing and we did sit up all night drinking Bavarian Beers. He decides that he is going to head home about two am. We have been playing records since 12am and I ask how long we should go on for. He thinks that we should play till about four or five. Shit! I don't think I have enough records. We made it through the evening till they started to close things up about 4am. All back to Michael's to sleep it off. We have a long drive tomorrow to Essen. When we get back to Michael's he shows us a CD compilation put together by the German footballer Mehmet Scholl. We are honoured that he would choose Lapitu for his compilation, however; unfortunately they have spelt our name wrong so it reads Lapitu, The cooper temple cause. Which is only slightly better than the guy who announced our set at Waterloo records in Texas as, "the temple urm um temple clause, sorry - the temple cooper clause thank you". That's it! From now on we should be known as the artists formerly known as.
Today we have been asked to appear on an Internet based Satellite TV show. The show runs a little like Crimewatch with lots of people working in the background and a camera crew just moving from one person to the other asking questions. The Main interview woman is also called Ute and she describes our sound as Dirty Bitchy Rock and asks us what we think about that. I think that she is a spanner and probably never listened to any of our music ever. The next interview lady is nice however and at least knows a little about us. She is hot and asks us lots of questions about the website. She then challenged Kieran to a game of Tekken and completely creamed him. Tonight we are playing at the Temple bar and the show has been organized by Jan who is a great guy and part of Team Cooper Germany. The bar is not completely full but it's busy and we are having a good time. Jeff and Welli are here and they are such good people. Jeff is one of the most hardcore men I have ever met and night out with him always take at least two days to recover. We are staying at their place tonight, that is if tonight ever ends. It's getting light again.
Foe making this trip possible we would like to thank Michael, Ute, Henning, Welli, Jeff, Jan and his girlfriend, Mark and his Lady, Connie, Thomas, Alvaro, Jo, Steffi, Katja and everyone one else we met last week. Also the People who came to see us in Canada and BMG Canada as I missed them off the last tour diary. Thanks very much.

Boards
Later this week we'll be running a purge of old data on the message boards - this should help to counter some of the slow loading issues they've had at peak times recently.
So, we'll be erasing all Private Messages which are more than 30 days old, and also deleting any users who've been inactive for more than 6 months.
The moderators will be going through and removing old threads, though anything of particular sentimental value will be saved...

Letter from TCTC
Dear Friends,
Once again it is that time of year when The Cooper Temple Clause take up their instruments, travel abroad and play their music to fresh victims.
Our upcoming Curiosa Tour across the US has got us very excited but has also got us a new bass player. The replacement comes in the form of a tall, dark and rugged producer, Mr. Dan Austin, who will be standing in for our newly made father, Didz.
Our producer, and now bass player, Dan will be holding up the rhythm section for the first half of the tour until Didz rejoins the party on the 10th August.
To ensure this handover of power is a smooth one, we have organised three small warm up shows with special guests Kiato in Manchester and Boxer Rebellion in London, Bristol is still up in the air but will be sorted imminently. While we're on Bristol please note due to stupid licensing laws the curfew is 10.30pm so make your plans well.
Thanks a million to those of you coming, we look forward to playing these shows to remind you that we are still alive. We haven't forgotten about any of you but have been busy working on exciting new songs for the next record.
See you next week.
Lots of Love

Fisher interview
Earlier this week we spoke to Dan Fisher, who's currently out in America with the rest of the band (Didz excepted, until next week...) as they tour with the Curiosa Festival.
Transcript is below - the interview was made up partly of questions from the message board, and partly from our own, and cover the current tour, general life in the US, reaction to the recent UK gigs, new music and finally some miscellany...
US Live shows
How is Curiosa going so far? What has the crowd reaction been like?
- It's been really good. We're only playing quite short sets, but... it's very hot... we're having a great time.
Is it frustrating that you are travelling across the US and you only get to play for 30 mins?
- It can be, but we're settled on quite a nice little set at the moment. Later on in the tour we move up the bill, so we'll be able to play a longer set then. But the 5-song set seems to be going down well at the moment. [Current setlist runs: Did You Miss Me / Been Training Dogs / New Toys / Music Box / Promises, Promises]
Are you mixing much with the other bands on the tour?
- Yeah, we've made good friends with Auf der Maur, and obviously we've known Muse for a while. There's a very nice community going on…
Whose idea was it to make the pink girl shirts available at Curiosa completely see through?
- [laughs] I've no idea. Actually, I do know that some of the people at BMG in the US were responsible for the t-shirts; if the pink t-shirts are see-thru, then we kind of apologise but we're also quite happy I guess!
Are you Cure fans? Did you know Robert Smith was a Coopers fan?
- Yeah, we're all Cure fans. We didn't realise he liked us, but he's put us on the tour, said loads of good things in the press and the programme, and he came backstage after the Nashville show – he's a really nice guy, and he's put this thing on for bands he feels need to be seen more across America, which is a really good way to do a festival.
US Life
Which carbonated soft drinks do you enjoy in the US?
- Erm... I strictly stick to diet coke. If I can get diet Dr Pepper I'll maybe get that...
UK chocolate or USA chocolate? Let's not exclude German and Japanese cocoa brands also...
- I'd have to go for English chocolate. Can't beat a Yorkie. Foreign cereal is also dreadful. The chocolate's all very gooey over here; they don't seem to do chunky.
Any one thing you hate about touring in America?
- TV adverts are unbelievably annoying.
From your new first hand knowledge, who is fatter, Robert Smith or the general American public?
- Without a doubt, the general American public.
Do you call the washroom a toilet/bathroom whilst in the USA or do you get into the spirit of the American dream and call it a washroom?
- We say bogs. Not many people understand.
UK Shows
How was it to be playing to a british crowd again on your warm up shows after such a long while away?
- It was amazing – those 3 gigs were originally put in as warm-up shows, because obviously Dan [Austin] needed to practice tracks live, filling in for Didz. But then they took on more of a fanbase special feel, and actually turned into some of the most important and most enjoyable gigs of our recent career.
The setlist seemed quite fan oriented
- Yeah; we were perhaps a little worried about the reaction because we left out a couple of more well known tracks [there was no Let's Kill Music or Who Needs Enemies, for example] but we figured we rather bring in some of the b-sides and bring some of the older tracks back – we did Murder Song for the first time in a while – and it just made it feel more special.
Any sign of Digital Observations making it into the set?
- It's a possibility... we won't rule any tracks out, but DO would prove particularly tricky because Kieran can't remember most of what he says in the middle. You never know though.
When you said you'd be back in Bristol soon did you mean:
1. Very soon
2. Quite soon
3. Soonish
4. Not very soon actually
5. Not for fucking ages
- Heh! Yet to be determined…! As soon as possible, but nothing can be guaranteed. It's like with the UK festivals this year – we figured that we'd just be playing the same set as last year, and we'd rather come back in 2005 with a new set of songs.
Band Line-up
How is the show going without Didz on board? Does it feel like you're missing something, or is Mr Austin fitting into the part well?
- It's weird. Very different. A lot quieter... Dan's doing a fantastic job filling in, but you can't replace Didz. It changes a lot of the temperament within the band, and we're looking forward to him coming out [Didz flies on August 10th], but Dan's been doing really well.
Any prospect of accomodating DA in a new expanded 7-piece line-up?
- Who knows…! Dan's also got his own career to think of; it's not particularly profitable being in The Cooper Temple Clause, so I think he might stick with some of his production jobs. I'm not sure we can split the pay that many ways, either... He's always been an informal seventh member though, he's had a lot of influential input in the recording of the songs, and programmed and played little bits on some of the songs.
Any more line-up vacancies likely to appear in the near future? Plenty of people on the board fancy the chance of stepping up...
- [laughs] Not in the near future, no... we're quite happy having one father in the band at the moment. Kieran's probably good father material though...
New Music
How's the new material coming on?
- We're writing at the moment but it's very early days; it's quiet a lot more cinematic, but at the same time the songs are getting shorter and more concise - we're packing more into a shorter timeframe. There's some very exciting songs coming through though. A few tracks have got possibly finished lyrics and vocals, but it's all in the demo stage at the moment. This tour gives us a bit of time away from the songs, so we can listen to them fresh when we get back.
Is it the traditional band line-up in terms of who sings, who writes lyrics etc?
- There's some swapping around. Tom and Ben have been doing some writing, and the general distribution of work is being more spread out. It's changing from the last album, as we always said it would – not just in terms of the sound, but also in the way we're working. It's exciting to be working again.
What are your reflections on KUTF?
- We look back on it extremely proudly... Compared to the first lp, when we looked back at that we could see some obvious things we wanted to change, but KUTF we see as a benchmark rather than something to pick at. It was more focussed and it worked better as a whole.
Were you disappointed with the relatively poor charting of Blind Pilots?
- Well, we're not that fussed. One of my favourite bands, dEUS, everyone who's heard them thinks they're fantastic, but they've never had much exposure. They do ok around Europe and sell albums, but they've never had a big single. Everyone thought that if we were going to have a big hit then that would be it, but we weren't too fussed either way.
Do you wish you'd never taken that big cheque from BMG now that they've made you rush your third album?
- Well, we're taking a while over the third album, we'e not writing and recording at the same time [as with KUTF], so I imagine this time we'll take a lot longer over it... I think people may be slightly misinformed over the size of the cheque, too! It's not that massive, especially not split between us!
Misc
How do you get your hair to stick up like that? Admit it, you've got personal stylists...
- Our stylist is Tom Bellamy and his pair of shavers. He has actually just cut my hair... [now looking quite cropped, if you see pics from the fan area] There are some interesting pictures of me getting my hair cut without scissors on my laptop. They might make an appearance sometime... I've been told I look like a slightly uglier version of John Cusack, and I can accept that.
If you had to sleep with one member of the band which one would it be?
- Kieran. Nice tight little bum. He's the most cuddly: he can be there for a hug, or he can be there for man-love.
What do you find to be the most fascinating/appealing aspects in the world of Rock n Roll today?
- That we get to come to the other side of the world to play our music... there are people in far flung backwaters who somehow our music's managed to get to. That's the most fascinating thing.
Do you feel that the British press are trying to recreate a Blur vs. Oasis kind of thing with you and Kasabian?
- [slightly puzzled laugh] I think if they were trying to do that they'd probably pick far more well-known bands! Perhaps if they wanted a Gene vs. Shed Seven thing, we'd be right for that!

Dallas aftershow
TCTC will be Djing at the official Curiosa afterparty following Saturday's show at the Smirnoff Music Centre in Dallas (August 14th).
The Rapture and Mogwai will also be in attendance on the decks, and admission is $5 (half price) to anyone with a Curiosa ticket stub from the gig.
The party is in an art gallery directly across the street from Fair Park, where Smirnoff Amphitheater is located. Since it is in an art gallery, there aren't any time restrictions and they'll be keeping the party going until the wee hours of the morning. Cool.
Full info on the flyer below.

Sexy Video
A proud day for TCTC.
Blind Pilots video comes in @ number 12 in the Zoo magazine 'Sexiest Videos Ever' chart.
Man-becomes-goat-in-pagan-transformation clearly a big turn on; more so than American teen stars in school uniform, since Britney came in a lowly 13th.

Dublin photos/ wounds
The Gallery section has been updated with a series of new photographs by Keith Corcoran, taken at TCTC's show at the Dublin Ambassador gig last week (Sept 15th).
The 3 winners of the ticket competition we ran were:
Marianne Bell
Lipsy Pennell
James Thompson
Good night was had by most, though Fisher may beg to differ.
In the early hours of the Thursday morning, with the aftershow just getting really moving, Dan was picked up by Oceansize in the band's hotel, and swung round a few times. All good fun, kinda, until his head connected with a nice marble edge. 2 couple of hours later @ 5.30am, he was back at the hotel with 4 staples in his head...

Supersweet
TCTC adorn the cover of Thailand's Supersweet magazine this month (see image below).
The interview, based around questions from Thai fans, was held in May earlier in the year, and you can download a video version from the link at www.dudesweet.org.
It's a big old file - 12mb - but 10 minutes long, and includes a new (to us) explanation of the band name, as well as an acapella performance of Devil Walks In The Sand...
We've also uploaded the file to our streaming servers, so you can stream (link below) rather than download.

Didx Interview... plus DJing in Swansea
This Friday night myself, Kieran, and Ben we will be djing at the long established Swansea Escape Club, SA1 4EH. From rumours we've heard about the night we're expecting it to be very messy so pop down if you're about. Keep an eye on the journal section for updates.
Didx recently answered some questions for ReadingFestival.org, ahead of the band's appearance this August.
Our favourite bits are below, and you can read the whole thing here.
RF: Hey guys. How are you progressing with your third album?
DX: Good good good. I am currently listening to Fisher belt out some fucking anthemic shit over a fucking anthem that we made up. I didn't anticipate this happening but another run of schizo-eclecticism has infected us and the songs are sounding punchy, direct and completely different to one another.
RF: You have pretty much been out of the media since your relatively low-key gigs at the end of last year. Has this been a deliberate attempt to take some time out of the limelight and regroup?
DX: Kind of, but it's more to do with getting our heads down and writing fucking quality. A lot of graft has been done. These are finely honed pop biscuits. 'Limelight' steals your time and concentration away, so 'limelight' has been swerved around.

Oxford Zodiac photos
The Gallery is now resplendent with photos from the band's Oxford Zodiac gig earlier this week.
TCTC played 2 warm-up shows this week ahead of their Carling Weekend Festival appearances in Reading (Friday) and Leeds (Saturday) this weekend, on the Radio 1/NME stage.
The shots also include the set list, which features a raft of new songs written for the band's third lp.
Any photos/ reviews of the Oxford and Norwich gigs that you'd like to submit yourself are welcome - you can do so in the Community section.
Pictures are courtesy of Mike Eccleshall, and are not to be reproduced with express permission.

Message from Didx.
First of all, thank you so much to those of you on various forums that have sent messages of love and support. I carnt really begin to say how much that means to me. For those of you watching the web, this wasn't supposed to be how you all found out, and this would all have been a complete shit-storm were it not for the unparalleled brotherhood that me and the boys continue to share.
second of all, thanx to jon, tom, ben, fish and the boy mayhem. i believe fish hit the nail on the head in his message on the cooper's site "A brother has left the family home, but has not left the family." it takes a special bunch of kids to be able to believe and say that in these circumstances. and that's what the cooper temple clause are. a very very special bunch of kids. they've taught me everything i know.
but i do feel it is time to move on. situations are not as they were 5 years ago. and neither should they be. life is about movement and change. i've been to hell and back making this decision, but my mind is set and so i go. but if i thought that my leaving would kill the coopers then i would never have considered leaving at all. i am currently sat downstairs in the studio with tom and jon, whilst upstairs ben, fisher and kieran tweak the next record. and it sounds stunning. it really does. so much work has been done to get to this point and they're not gonna cry it down the toilet just cos the kid with the big gob is doing something else.
So with warm friendships firmly intact, and cooperism alive and well in all our hearts, we part ways. Thank you to everyone. In the words of George Harrison (though in extremely different circumstances) "see you round the clubs."

Didxy (Message from the band). 14/09/05
Dear fans and friends of the cooper temple clause,
it is with much regret that we must inform you all of didx hammond's departure from the cooper temple clause. Though the news saddens us as much as we are sure it does you, we feel it is important to reassure everyone that things ended amicably and there is no bad feelings between anyone concerned. A brother has left the family home, though he shall never leave the family. We extend to him our love and wish him the best, and hope all of you can join us in lending him your support for the future. He shall be dearly missed by everyone and will without doubt make contact himself through the website to sign off in inimitable style. Meanwhile, the album continues apace, and we hope to begin mixing the beast in a fortnight. Thankyou to everyone for their support over the carling weekend and the Oxford and Norwich shows, we couldn't have done it without you. Love and reassuring hugs from all at the tctc camp, xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

And So It Has To Change...
And so we evolve.
It's amazing how certain situations that can cause you so much fear and confusion can end up making everything seem so clear and concise. The past week has been bizarre but at the same time has brought out an even stronger bond between the brothers cooper.
We have one more week of recording and then we head into mixing. We're working on 10-12 tracks for the album and another 15ish for b-side material. And then who knows?!! I'm not allowed to tell...

New Live Dates!
Hello.
Seeing as the album is so close to fruition, we figured it's time to start getting ready to play the thing for you. As most of you will by now know we're no longer a six-piece so we'll be playing a few early shows to see how the whole gigging live as a quintet goes. To kick things off we will be traveling to a few countries that to us are near-uncharted territory, hopefully converting some people who have yet to experience us as a live band. The dates and venues are listed below should any of you be feeling adventurous, but rest assured we're putting together a UK tour to follow on from these dates. We decided that these UK gigs should be quite intimate so once they're confirmed and the paperwork's done you'll be the first to know. It's been a while now and we can't wait to play these songs for you all, so our eternal thanks for the patience and support you've shown.

TALKING TO A BRICK WALL LIVE IN PARIS
Hey
So, last week we went off on our travels again visiting Bournemouth, Paris and Northampton all of which were great gigs. Thank you to everyone who managed to come down, you made all the difference.
We managed to record the Paris gig and thought we'd give you one of the songs from that night to download. Seeing as so many of you have said that Talking To A Brick Wall sounds like it belongs in the cafes of Paris, we decided it would be fitting to give the version we recorded that night to you as this week's free download.
The download link is at the bottom of the page. Check out the new reggae drop down. An inspired progression i think you'll agree.
Much love

Talking To Pylons Demo
Hey
We thought it would be a bit mean to stop giving you free stuff, now that we've used up all the recordings we made in rehearsals before the last tour, so this week we thought we'd give you the demo that Dan did of Talking To Pylons, which is the b-side to the limited edition Damage CD's that were sold on tour last month.
This demo was made last summer in our studio, the Bleakhouse, and as you can hear the rest of the band were busy next door working on what you now know as Homosapiens. The drums you can hear were also put down by Dan.
Thankyou to anyone who came to see us in Estonia on the weekend, your country is amazing as too is your dancing. Hopefully we can come back soon and play for you again.
Keep your eyes to the floor and your ears peeled for upcoming gig news which should be with you this week.
NME
The good people at NME have put together a lovely free CD, which will be sticky taped to the front of the issue that's out tomorrow. This CD will feature our new track 'Damage'.

DOWNLOAD FOR THIS WEEK
This week's download is a nugget if I do say so myself! For any of you that came to see us play in the winter of 2003 will remember that the band walked on to a remix of A.I.M. that Tom and Dan Austin put together specifically for that tour. It was only ever used for that tour and has been hiding in the closet ever since. Until now!.... Enjoy.
Recently we've been compiling some of the early demos of all of the songs on the forthcoming album "Make This Your Own" for you to download in the weeks to come. It's interesting for us to see how they've changed and i'm sure you'll be interested to see where the songs have come from and what we have been up to since we began writing the album.
For those of you that are near Coventry on Saturday we will be playing the Godiva Festival, would be great to see you. I also believe Leo Sayer will be playing too, what more could you ask for?

FILMAKER LIVE AT V FESTIVAL CHELMSFORD
Dear Friends,
Thank you to all who attended our shows over the last few days. The warm ups were particularly warm. Brighton was busy and featured much inter-band camaraderie. Those of you who were at the Oxford show, thanks for packing into downstairs and keeping the atmosphere hot. Sweat was pouring off the walls, us and you guys so sorry if you got wet.
Our first V festival experience was a colourful one. Despite the inconsistent power supplies on stage we managed to get through the set in Stafford and narrowly avoided an on stage punch up. Chelmsford was better and at both shows the crowds were excellent and we felt fully supported by you guys so thank you.
Please find below the song 'Film maker' from Sunday's gig at Chelmsford to alleviate those post festival blues. Close your eyes and pretend you're still there...
Muchos lovos,

TOUR THANKS + DAMAGE ACOUSTIC FOR KERRANG RADIO
Hey Team
A huge thank you to all who came to the gigs, as ever we are nothing without you guys and your enduring support and enthusiasm was nothing short of awe-inspiring.
We can play the show of our lives onstage, but the show lives or dies at the hand of the crowd and not once did you let us down, so thanks to each and every one of you for your efforts. A big thanks also to the tireless street team members, whose contribution to the success of the tour was vital.
As we're sure you are all aware, the first single proper from the album, 'Homo Sapiens', exceeded all expectations and cracked the top 40, a huge achievement given the amount of time we've been away. We hope the various b-sides are to your liking and meet the high standards we've set ourselves in the past. Again, our gratitude is extended to everyone who spent their hard-earned pennies in support of Team Cooper.
Some of you may have noticed a new feature at some of the shows, namely the guestbook at the merchandise stall. After a lengthy perusal we can now confirm that we are in equal parts touched, tickled and downright disturbed by the multitude of entries. The artist responsible for 'Old Cooper Cocknose' should seek psychological help immediately, or alternatively pursue a fine arts degree. In fact, so impressed were we by these heartfelt/crazed scribblings that we have created a feature in our journal displaying all the many works of maniacal genius. HERE
While on tour in Birmingham, we were invited into Kerrang Radio to record acoustic versions of Homo Sapiens, Damage, and Waiting Game. Other than a sleep deprived, too much partying, hungover, spinal tap harmony disaster giggling fit between Dan and Tom everything went swimmingly.
Anyone who wants to watch the version of damage that Ben recorded on his camera can see it HERE
Lastly, we would like to congratulate 'Nippy' winner of the 'I am a gift to the world' myspace competition. Paul, you came very close, thank you to everyone who entered. You can read the lovely story here HERE
We hope you are all well and in good health. Keep on truckin' and we'll see you this weekend for a bit of a dance.

GOODBYE
Dear Team Cooper
It is with a sad and heavy heart that I must announce that The Cooper Temple Clause have decided to split up.
Last week I informed the rest of the boys that I would be leaving the band. As I hope you will all be able to understand, it was perhaps the most difficult decision I have ever had to make. When the only life you have ever known is that of your five best friends and the music you make, the thought of leaving that life is not one to be considered lightly and I assure you all that the decision was not an easy one to make. Nonetheless, it was something I felt I had to do. I can only apologise from the bottom of my heart for the disappointment this will undoubtedly cause many of you.
In the wake of this decision the rest of the boys agreed to call it a day and pursue other interests. Friendships are well and truly intact and the love very much remains within the camp.
We would like to take this moment to thank all of you for your support over the years and the love and acceptance you have shown us. It has been an honour to be your servants, for that is what we have been. A band is nothing without its fans, without the people who come to the shows, buy the albums and make us feel that we're not alone in the world, that there are other people out there who see the world as we do in all its wonder and absurdity. People can say what they like about The Cooper Temple Clause, but the unswerving loyalty and dedication of you guys, the ones who really matter, can never be called into question. From the very beginning you have shone brighter than we could have ever hoped, from the street teams to the forum administrators, from those of you who saw us in the Bull and Gate to those who made the earth shake at Fuji Rock on the other side of the world; we thank you all, each and every one of you. When we stood as children in front of our mirrors brandishing tennis rackets and singing into upturned golf clubs, never did we imagine the fantastic adventure we would embark upon thanks to you, the greatest fans in the world. We can only hope that we touched your hearts as much as you have ours.
Take heart and carry on, dear Team. Never be afraid to be yourselves, to be individuals, to fly in the face of common sense and listen to your hearts, to do it your own way. We made a bunch of albums. We played a bunch of shows. We met a bunch of people who changed our lives forever.
We love you all.
Thank you so much.
Yours, in absence of a cheesy line from one of our own songs to end this post,
Dan
